Wow. Sounds terrible. That wasn't my experience at the time i was there. :( . Maybe its a one of incident. I say go a second time, if the behavior is the same then give them a bad rating.
I too have a similar experience
Its is the arrival hall in terminal 4 on the ground floor before TSA and after you exit customs
Servers are super rude and don't even know what menu they have. Also, they have disgusting fingernails. They DEFINITELY need to wash their hands before go to work. Not only that, cocktail taste sucks.Highly recommend not to visit this Diner even you are super starving before you take your flight.
Good food and nice atmosphere. The service however is very slow. We had to wait a long time for our food and later had to wait a long time again to pay.
Situated at JFK International Arrival Hall at Terminal 4. Below average in every regard
Food is not bad for airport dinner, good service and price is airport price so don't expect cheap.
Avoid this place at any cost,Refuse to serve me and my family with 9 month infant, First we waited to seat 20 minutes then after giving us menu server left us for next 25 minutes and then when we went and asked her for order, she said wait outside more and she will stop by , she took next 10 minutes just to avoid eye contact and then she came to our table and said everything in menu will take another 45 minutes to deliver, when we asked can we get any food item she responded by yelling at us that are you deaf or not listening , that they can deliver anything from menu. When I asked for manager she said they don't have anyone and she brought another server to kick us out with server, not only we left hungry but abused by behavior of this server.
The food and service are fine.
Food was good but service was very slow. Waited approximately an hour before receiving our food. Once we got it, it was good.
Good food. Very busy. Service quite lacking, felt like it was understaffed really. Had to constantly remind the staff of my orders, refills and the bill.
Not clean and not hygienic. On three separate occasions, wine glasses were filthy and I asked for a spare plate and it was filthy as well. But staff don’t seem to care as they seemed shocked when I brought the dirty ware to their attention. This poor homeless woman walked in and the treated her like a criminal: really shocking. I ended up offering to pay for her lunch but they said that I had to pay immediately even though I want ready to pay for my own food. Major distrust of paying customers!Just a really poor and disgusting place to eat.
After a 7 hour over night flight we ordered a breakfast which was extremely over priced. Our waitress Shavon was very rude when my friend asked for her eggs to be cooked for a little longer, I would not recommend this place at all to anyone to be
Good food and really fast. Prices are ok for an airport aerea.
The definition of a diner. Understaffed and over priced. Ordered cheese Quesadillas got chicken. The server blamed another employee. Was never asked how I was doing and you have to tip 15-20%.My water wasn’t refilled and nobody working there wanted to be there.
It was ok friendly staff food was a bit expensive for the quality
A nice place to sit while waiting for boring flight. Great customer service.
The impossible burger was cool. However, I takes forever to get the waiters to take your order and then another 25 or 30 minutes to receive your order. That's not nice. The black lady that served me was helpful.
Useful that it stays open 24hrs, especially when we are stranded overnight at JFK with no place else to go.
Nice staff good omelets
The food was pretty decent, but very overpriced for what it is. The service was also slow in general. Not exactly ideal if you're trying to get a quick meal before a flight.
Reliable, good place to recharge yourself and your devices
Very nice feeling about it.Service is greatGood choice of food and beersTerminal 4 jfk
Prices are a bit much but it is on par for airport pricing. The chicken tenders taste great. The shrimp are the regular processed shrimp you buy in the bag from the grocery store and cook up. So don't expect anything fabulous. Good for what it is, overpriced diner food to pick up after a long flight and you have nothing at home. Very nice, attentive staff.
For late night/ early morning dining at JFK there aren’t many places. Central Diner was pleasant enough. I got the four cheese grilled cheese and a glass of Chardonnay. Service was a bit slow at the beginning but picked up. Would definitely recommend it for a place to sit and stay awhile if you find yourself waiting for a flight.
Server ran around in a mad dash, turning his back on you while taking a order. Orderd a simple coffee, did not ask for regular or large. Came with a large. Slamming glasses on tables and throwing refils at customers. Maybe he was having a bad day but really no need to act like that in a full diner. On the plus side, the food was good and there was not really a wait.
Seated in one location by the host, then told to move by the waitress. Starting your customers off with a bad taste in their mouth is a pretty poor game plan. However I was then pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the Greek salad and my friend had an excellent Reuben. About as overpriced as expected in an airport.
I did not expect good cafe at the airport. But quite good quality coffee and comfortable seat. Good and first impression of NY^^
The service is excellent. The onion soup and the original moscow mule was amazing. But the classic hamburger hasn't a good taste and the ketchup has a strange flavor. The mozzarella sticks need be melted inside.
Excellent, Lorna provided an excellent service and the food was great.
Service is terrible, even by airport standards. The food is ok (if they manage to bring you what you ordered). The only saving grace of this place is the sincere attempt to recreate an authentic diner atmosphere inside an otherwise miserable airport terminal.
Stood at the door waiting to be seated(sign says to wait to be seated), they kept looking at us but no one ever sat us. That's probably why everyone was getting food from Duncan Donuts. Shame really since they have plenty of open seats, but are too rude to seat anyone.
If you’re someone who craves an order of charcoal with a side of cold fries, then this is the place for you! You’ll humbled by the low price of $20 for your gourmet charcoal burger dish and dazzled by the 30 minute wait in the empty diner. Enjoy your meal!
Overly priced, poor service and okay food. I ordered fries from there to-go area. The lady at the counter was more focused on the off-beat conversation she was having with another colleague than taking my order. More importantly, the diner offers small quantities of food with a whopping price tag. A small box of fries costs $6 ... your typical airport price gouging. The potatoes had a skin and a crisp shell, but they weren't fresh. Seemed like they were fried multiple times. From a taste perspective, I tasted more of the vegetable oil and trans fats than the potatoes itself. So if you're stuck at JFK, and are super hungry then yes it's okay to dine here. But if you buy a box of fries don't forget to get a water ball. You will need to it wash off the coating of vegetable oil in your throat.
Very polite waiters and fast service. The breakfast was tasty enough but not something special.
Ok, food even if the service is horrible and if you order a medium burger it comes out well done with no fries lol at least it’s a great place to waste some time!
Food was good and service was quick
Nice place to eat prior to going through security at Terminal 4.
Ordered large cappuccino. They charged me for large cappuccino and gave me regular coffee with milk instead. When I told them it was regular coffee cashier did not even apologize. Manager conformed it was regular coffee and witnessed everything. Very rude, unprofessional. I wish I could sue them but I don’t have a lawyer. WORST PLACE!!!
Good for quick bite while waiting for flights. It was my first meal in the USA so I remember this. I got down and was waiting for my friend. I ordered one grill chicken sandwich which came with fries. It was too big for me. I was hungry so I ate in like minutes. It was one good sandwich. But after that I did go there for 2-3 times, I am not sure chef has been changed or what, I did not get the same sandwich again. I guess if you don’t have an option then you can go there.
Worst diner, would not recommend it. Food at most average. Burger was way overcooked and had no sauce on it. Service unfriendly and throws you out as soon as you paid your bill. Better pick a restaurant after check in if possible.
This place is garbage, took 10 min to get a menu, another 10 to get water, and all the items are overpriced. Asked for a breakfast sandwich with sausage and cheddar cheese. Got two sausage links on American cheese
You should only eat here out of desperation, for t convenient if you’re getting someone from the airport, but other than that a dismal choice. Food is sub-par, and you pay twice as much as you would anywhere else.
The food is excellent I had an amazing bacon cheese burger. I waited 10 min for someone to seat my wife and I . We finaly got tired of waiting and took a seat. 20min later I got up and got us menus from the front counter. 10min later I flagged a waitress. 30min later we got our food. THE MOST TERRIBLE SERVICE IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE...... EVER!!!!!!! However the food is good.... when we settled the 42$bill the waitress pushed us for a tip. When I told her I tipped for service she insisted she should get one for bringing the food..... unbelievable....
Went for a quick bite and coffee .. coffee was good .. mozzarella sticks was average .. fries had very less salt and wasn’t that crispy . Hummus dip was good . Was a bit cold though ... they also had a small bar with beer and other stuff .. service was ok .. could have been better .. overall an average experience
Simple sandwiches and burgers, the good is not good it’s better to eat inside, passing security. The host and waiter look mad and were not very nice, they need to improve the service. I don’t recommend this restaurant. Mc Donald’s it’s cheaper and better than this.
Hamburgers are huge and taste great. A little pricey, but it's inside the JFK, what can we expect, plus it's one of the few in that terminal
Despite the negative reviews and lack of other options, we decided to give this place a chance during our 7 hour layover at JFK. Service was excellent from start to finish and food was great as well. It was admittedly a little pricey but considering the options they have a monopoly on the business pre-security. Otherwise, no complaints at all!
Quality of food was decent but it was completely bland. No seasoning whatsoever. The food took over 30 minutes to be served. Home fries were cold and not much. Decent service. What more can you expect from an airport diner?
Offer sandwiches and pancakes
